Eastern Bakery at 720 Grant Avenue (which is the main drag in Chinatown) is one of the best Chinese Bakeries in San Francisco. It’s the Chinese Bakery that ex President Clinton visited while he was in office back in the late 90s – so you know it’s got to be good right? I always like to stop in there for the really yummy sesame seed balls with bean filling and sometimes when i feel like it I order the baked bbq pork buns not the steamed. Yum!
Those two items are always some of the best in the city and very, very cheap. So if you’re strolling around in Chinatown for the first time and need a little food energy you should definitely stop in and order those two items. Or if you live in the city and your office is bored of the damn same old donuts just visit Eastern Bakery and get a dozen bbq pork buns and take them in. Costs the same price as a dozen donuts! And it’s definitely something different, unique and much healthier than the fatty greasy donuts your body is used to.
